Dawn to Dusk
The prayer at sunset, al maghrib, concludes each day’s fast during Ramadan, a holy month of prayer and reflection for Muslims. This original film, a collaboration between Emirati filmmaker Mansour Al Heera and his mother, Rana Natheer Al Thahabi, captures the preparation of an iftar, or fast-breaking meal, in their home in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, during the last and most sacred week of Ramadan.
As we mark the final day of Eid al-Fitr, the joyous celebration at the end of Ramadan, Dawn to Dusk reflects on what nourishes us during this holy period and beyond.
