The photographer behind this remarkable artwork is one of twelve participants who live locally and are HIV-positive, united for a remarkable photo documentary project.
It’s interesting to see certain themes emerge in visitor photos and to observe which subjects hold the greatest appeal for photographers.
Today’s highlights include the live broadcast of NPR’s Talk of the Nation fand the collaborative performance by West Virginia University Steel Band and University of Texas-Pan Am Mariachi Aztlán.
Standing tall in gold stacked sandals at the mic is Sonya Renee, formerly from the Black AIDS Institute, the nation’s only HIV/AIDS think-tank focused exclusively on the HIV epidemic in Black communities.
